One of the most meaningful improvements in Mexico’s rule of law was incorporation of the so- called class action lawsuit to protect social rights related to the environment, consumer protection, and economic competition (antitrust). Regrettably, vulnerable social communities have not fully resorted to this type of action due to ignorance about their rights and the mechanisms available to enforce them. One of the main objectives of LITREDI is to make those groups aware of the mechanisms available to them to access justice, with the fundamental goal of fostering a more egalitarian society that will put an end to the abuses they endure.
