Michelle’s practice is focused on international dispute resolution in complex commercial and investment arbitrations. With over 10 years of experience, Michelle has deep rooted knowledge of the arbitral proceeding, having conducted arbitrations under all major arbitral institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Centre for Dispute Resolution/American Arbitration Association (ICDR/AAA), Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM), Center for Mediation and Arbitration of the National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), as well as ad hoc arbitrations under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Rules.
Michelle has developed her full-service arbitration practice on several fronts. She has acquired thorough experience as a party representative, administrative secretary, and a general tribunal assistant. Her experience covers numerous governing laws, substantive and procedural, and she has managed complex, high-value disputes under multiple jurisdictions, conducted in both English and Spanish.
Additionally, Michelle has solid experience in arbitration-related litigation, dealing with enforcement of arbitration agreements, setting aside proceedings, recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, provisional measures, and other arbitration-related judicial proceedings.
She has advised large Mexican and international companies in several high-profile disputes involving complex, business-sensitive issues, bringing many of the disputes to an optimal conclusion, either through arbitration, negotiation, mediation or settlement solutions.
Michelle’s experience covers a wide range of legal issues, industries and sectors, including construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, oil and gas, banking and financial services, food and beverage, consumption goods, corporate and shareholder disputes, international sale of goods, manufacturing contracts, joint ventures, etc.
